Merrimack's playoff scenario heading into Saturday's regular-season finale became a bit clearer on Friday, thanks to results from around Hockey East.
The odds are overwhelmingly in favor of the Warriors finishing as the No. 10 seed and facing Northeastern in Wednesday's first round of the Hockey East playoffs. However, one scenario would see the Warriors finish No. 11 and face New Hampshire in the first round of the playoffs.
Northeastern is locked in as the No. 7 seed. If Merrimack finishes 10th, they will face the Huskies.
The result required for Merrimack to drop to 11th would lock UNH into 6th, creating that matchup for the Warriors in the playoffs.
