NCAA announces Frozen Four sites for 2027, 2028

The NCAA announced NCAA Tournament sites for 2027 and 2028 on Wednesday.

The Frozen Four will return to Washington, D.C., in 2027. It was last held in D.C. in 2009 when Boston University came from behind to beat Miami 4-3 in overtime. The Terriers scored twice in the final minute to tie the game, and Colby Cohen scored the game-winning goal in overtime.

Chicago will host another Frozen Four in 2028. The United Center hosted the 2017 Frozen Four when Jim Montgomery's Denver Pioneers beat Minnesota Duluth in the finals. Jarid Lukosevicius scored a hat trick for Denver in that game.

The NCAA previously announced the 2025 Frozen Four in St. Louis and the 2026 Frozen Four in Las Vegas.

Navy and Events DC will be the hosts in D.C. Denver is the host for the 2028 Frozen Four in Chicago.

Regional sites for 2027 and 2028 were also announced.

2027: Bridgeport, Conn., Springfield, Mass., Loveland, Colo., Fargo, N.D.

2028: Rochester, N.Y., Allentown, Pa., Sioux Falls, S.D., Fargo, N.D.

The NCAA announced 240 championship sites for 2027 and 2028 today, shifting to making these announcements in two-year cycles.

SVP of Championships Lynda Tealer indicated the NCAA “incorporated more data into the process” and will seek feedback on the appropriate cadence of the selection process.
