Pregame: Cranston slots back in for Merrimack ahead of Providence series
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Warriors are on the road this evening in Providence to take on the Friars at Schneider Arena. This marks the first of two meetings between the programs this season, with the home-and-home set wrapping up Saturday night at Lawler Arena.
The Friars swept Merrimack in a home-and-home last spring, winning 3–2 at Schneider Arena and 2–1 at Lawler. Merrimack’s most recent victory over Providence came on March 1, 2024 — a 2–1 win at home. The Warriors’ last road win at Schneider Arena was a 3–2 decision on Dec. 10, 2022.
Caden Cranston will return to the lineup tonight after missing Saturday’s game against BU. He was held out following an injury he suffered Friday night on a late hit along the wall after a whistle.
Cranston’s return is the lone lineup change for the Warriors coming out of last weekend.
Because this is a road game and I’m not on a broadcast, I’ll provide some live updates on Twitter/X @TheMackReports.
