PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The 2021-22 hockey season begins tonight at Schneider Arena. Merrimack has traveled south and will face the No. 11 Providence College Friars at 7 p.m.
TV: NESN+, streaming on NESN.com and College Sports Live (outside of NESN’s coverage area).
Steven Jandric, Jake Durflinger, Matt Copponi, Mike Brown, and Adam Arvedson will all make their Merrimack debuts tonight. Jandric is on the first line with Max Newton and Alex Jefferies.
Arvedson is getting a prime spot in the lineup alongside Zach Uens on the back end. Zach Borgiel will start for the Warriors.
Jordan Seyfert will also return to the lineup, after missing all of last season with an injury.
As we reported earlier today, Merrimack head coach Scott Borek will miss tonight’s game after testing positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19.
