Pregame: Merrimack opens the second on the road at Army
Merrimack plays Army tonight at Tate Rink in West Point. The Warriors closed out their first half with a 4-1 win over Northeastern on Dec. 14. Army returned to action last weekend and was beaten at home by Princeton and Vermont.
Max Lundgren is the expected starter in goal for the Warriors. Lundgren made 26 saves in the win over Northeastern last month. Army is expected to go with freshman JJ Cataldo, who has been one of the top statistical goalies in the country (his .932 save percentage is No. 6 in the nation among qualified goalies).
Merrimack’s lineup is almost identical to the Northeastern game last month. The only changes include Max Wattvil going into the lineup on defense and Jordan Hughesman, who battled an injury throughout the first half of the year, will make his second appearance.
