Pregame: Warriors get news on Daneault, Gill moves back to center
The Warriors will enter the weekend series without Ty Daneault, who also missed last weekend after suffering an injury in practice. With the calendar nearing February, there is a belief within the program that Daneault will miss the remainder of the season.
Hunter Mayo also remains out of the lineup for Merrimack, and there is still no timetable for his return.
Up front, Justin Gill moves back to center for tonight’s game against UNH and will skate alongside Trevor Hoskin and Nick Pierre. Parker Lalonde, who recorded a hat trick against the Wildcats earlier this season, will center Caelan Fitzpatrick and Caden Cranston.
On the back end and in goal, the lineup remains unchanged from last weekend.
Pending other results around the league, the Warriors could move up as high as fifth place in the Hockey East standings with a win tonight.
Again, pending other results, a Merrimack win over the Wildcats tonight would bump the Warriors up to No. 26 nationally in the NPI, but other results will impact that as well.
