Preview: Merrimack hosts UConn in pivotal matchup
Merrimack will host UConn tonight at 7 p.m. inside Lawler Arena in a pivotal matchup both in the Hockey East standings and in the Pairwise Rankings.
The Warriors enter tonight’s game tied for fourth in the Hockey East standings with Providence, but just one point ahead of the Huskies who enter tonight in sixth place. UConn also has a game in hand on the Warriors. If Merrimack wins tonight, they would not only negate the game in hand UConn has (Merrimack would have a four-point lead on the Huskies), they would also end the night tied for second place in the league with UMass.
