Preview: Merrimack travels to Long Island for rematch with the Sharks
The Warriors return to the ice tonight on the road at Long Island, looking for payback in a rematch with the Sharks after LIU stunned them last month.
This is the second of three meetings between the teams this season, and it marks Merrimack’s first trip to the Northwell Health Ice Center.
The Warriors are dealing with some bumps and bruises, too. They’re expected to be without Ty Daneault and Trevor Hoskin tonight.

Keys to the Game
Don’t fall behind
The Warriors have scored first in only three of their first 10 games, but they’re 2-1 when they do. When they surrender the opening goal, they’re just 2-5. On the road — where Merrimack is still searching for its first win — and against an opponent that has already beaten them once this season, getting out in front early feels essential.
Win the special teams battle
Merrimack has managed this more often than not this season, but it feels especially critical tonight. LIU goaltender Daniel Duris has been sharp, and he was outstanding in the matchup at Lawler Arena a few weeks back. The power play has given Merrimack a spark at times this year, and they’ll need it to travel with them on the road.
