Preview: Warriors continue early-season road swing against SEC power Aubrun
The Tigers reached the Final Four last season and are ranked No. 20 in the nation
The Warriors continue their season-opening road trip Thursday night at Auburn. It marks the first of two matchups for Merrimack against teams that reached last year’s Final Four. Florida — who the Warriors will face on Nov. 21 — eliminated the Tigers in the national semifinals last April.
Auburn opened its season Monday night with a narrow 95-90 overtime win over Bethune-Cookman. The Tigers led 81-78 in the closing seconds before Aterior Morris was fouled on a last-second desperate heave from midcourt. He calmly sank all three free throws to send the game to overtime, where Auburn finally pulled away.
The Warriors, meanwhile, dropped their opener Monday night to South Dakota State, 75-66, after holding a second-half lead.
