Recruit Report: Bryzgalov listed on NHL Central Scouting List
Yaroslav Bryzgalov, a Merrimack College recruit, was named to the NHL Central Scouting Watch List for the 2026 NHL Draft on Monday. The annual list assigns letter grades to prospects, and Bryzgalov earned a “C” rating—signifying a projection as a potential fourth or fifth-round selection in next June’s draft.
The 18-year-old forward has been off to a strong start with the WHL’s Medicine Hat Tigers, posting 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in his first 11 games. At 6-foot-4, Bryzgalov brings size and skill down the middle, although he’s also played left wing this season.
For now, the recruit report is organized by birth year. Later this season, I’ll shift gears and begin projecting the 2026-27 class.
