Recruit Report: Ethan Merner signs with Calgary Hitmen
Merrimack recruit Ethan Merner (‘06) signed with the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL. The Hitmen drafted Merner in the fourth round of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
The Kelowna native has 18 points (12g-6a) in 30 games for the BCHL’s Langley Rivermen this season. Last season with the Sherwood Park Crusaders (BCHL) he had 42 points (23g-19a) in 65 games.
Because of a recent NCAA rule change, Merner retains his NCAA eligibility despite signing with the WHL. Merrimack recruit Easton Daneault (‘08) signed with the Lethbridge Hurricanes (WHL) last week.
