Merrimack recruit Thomas Zocco has emerged as one of the USHL’s most productive forwards this season. The 2006-born Staten Island, New York native sits No. 5 in league scoring with 44 points (12 goals, 32 assists) in 36 games — production that has him tracking toward a 74-point campaign.
If he gets there, it would mark the highest single-season point total ever recorded by a Merrimack recruit in the USHL, surpassing the current benchmarks set by Stephane Da Costa (67 points) and Rob Ricci (60).
Zocco added to his résumé on Sunday, scoring twice in a 5-1 win over the Lincoln Stars.
