Sacred Heart added to 2024 Merrimack Football schedule

Merrimack has added Sacred Heart to its home schedule for the 2024 football season. That doesn't come as much surprise. The Pioneers are leaving the NEC along with the Warriors to join the MAAC, which doesn’t sponsor football, and will play as FCS independents next season.

I wouldn't be surprised if Merrimack plays at Sacred Heart in 2025, although nothing was officially listed.

Adding the Sacred Heart game gives the Warriors nine games on the schedule. It wouldn't be surprising to see two more games added. The Ivy League schools typically play 10 games, while most FCS schools play 11 or 12 regular-season games.
