Second-half defense helps Merrimack past Wagner 60-44
Jordan Derkack scored 19 points to lead Merrimack to a 60-44 victory over Wagner on Thursday night.
The Warriors held the Seahawks to just 20 total second half points.
Derkack added seven rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Warriors (11-10, 5-2 NEC). Freshman Adam Clark scored 16 on 7-for-11 shooting. Both Bryan Etumnu and Devon Savage finished the game with eight points.
Julian Brown made three 3-pointers and scored 11 to lead the Seahawks (9-9, 3-3).
GAME NOTES: The Merrimack defense held Wagner to a 29% shooting percentage. … Derkack would finish the game with a team-high seven rebounds. … The Warriors scored 17 points off of 12 Seahawk turnovers.
