Series Preview: Merrimack vs. Boston University
Merrimack and Boston University will meet for the first time since last season’s Hockey East championship game this weekend. The Warriors will host the first game of the series tonight, and the finale will be Saturday at Agganis Arena.
BU leads the all-time series, but the Warriors are 5-3 in the last eight meetings dating back to 2020. The Terriers beat the Warriors 3-2 in overtime of last year’s Hockey East Championship at TD Garden. Merrimack swept the regular-season series between the teams.
Merrimack is coming off last week’s win in the Turkey Leg Classic, with victories over Bentley and Army. BU beat Quinnipiac last Wednesday and fell to Cornell, 2-1, at Madison Square Garden last Saturday.
Before the Warriors and Terriers drop the puck, let’s preview BU, including looking at their top players and team trends. Plus, we also have some things to watch with the Warriors and break down the series by the numbers.
