Stonehill forward Todd Brogna commits to Merrimack out of the portal
Jaylen Stinson will return to the Warriors for a redshirt season
The Merrimack men’s basketball team picked up another forward in the transfer portal on Wednesday, landing a commitment from 6-foot-7 Stonehill forward Todd Brogna.
Brogna was named All-NEC Third Team this past season for the Skyhawks. In 30 games (29 starts), he averaged 12.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Brogna was one of the top free-throw shooters in the country, shooting 91.7 percent (88 for 96) from the line, ranking him No. 11 in the nation.
Brogna is originally from Southborough, Mass., and played his high school basketball at Worcester Academy.
Brogna is transferring with two years of eligibility remaining.
In addition, guard Jaylen Stinson will return to the roster this upcoming season. Stinson missed all of last season with an injury.
Unofficially, those additions bring the Warriors’ roster to 13 players. Under the new House Settlement regulations, men’s basketball teams will be capped at 15 players. Eight of the 13 players are new additions, with Brandon Legris, Stinson, Malik Edmead, Tye Dorset, and Brendan Johnson the only returners.
