BOSTON — Northeastern beat Merrimack 5-3 on Friday night at Matthews Arena. 

Here are my takeaways from Friday's game, including:

— With Merrimack's late goals, it wasn't really as close as the score made it appear.

— Sustained zone pressure was a problem for the Warriors on Friday.

— Merrimack needs to be better without the puck. However, they were the more physical team.

— The game appeared closer than the score suggested because the Warriors scored two late goals, but realistically it was out of reach in the second period when the Huskies went up 4-1.
