Takeaways from Merrimack's 69-67 loss at Georgetown: Fouls (self-inflicted and others) hurt Warriors

Let’s start with what the Warriors could have cleaned up.
Merrimack fouled Georgetown on three-point shots three times in the first half. They were very aggressive, flying to the outside to defend three-point shots. There needed to be a little more body control on some of those, and they could have avoided the four-point play. It carried over twice more in the second half. Those extra points ultimately proved the difference in a two-point game.
Now, cleaning up those three-point fouls is in Merrimack’s control. What wasn’t in Merrimack’s control were two blown calls by the officials late in the game, one of which they still blew inexplicably after reviewing the play.
