Maine rolled to a 5-0 win over Merrimack on Friday night at Alfond Arena.

Here are my takeaways from Friday’s game, along with what I’m looking for in Saturday’s rematch.

The Warriors simply weren’t in the offensive zone. Zone time was sporadic at best, and only once or twice did they establish dangerous possession in the offensive zone. That’s why the shots and attempts were so disparate.

Scoring chances, per InStat, were 22-7 Maine. Maine had 30:32 of play in the attacking zone, and Merrimack had 21:00 in the attacking zone.

So, the Warriors had a scoring chance every 3:00 in the attacking zone, while Maine generated a scoring chance every 1:22 in the attacking zone.
