TMR MBB Awards: Javon Bennett named Rookie of the Year
Javon Bennett was named our 2023 TMR Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Year. Bennett, a freshman guard, received 81 percent of the total vote, which was conducted by readers of The Mack Report.
Bennett appeared in 34 games for the Warriors this season and started 27 contests. He averaged 29.4 minutes, 9.6 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.9 steals per game. Bennett was ranked No. 3 on the team in minutes.
The Orlando, Fla. native entered the transfer portal at the end of the season. This past weekend, he committed to Dayton.
The TMR Awards are presented annually by The Mack Report. The awards are voted on by TMR readers/subscribers. The men’s hockey awards have been presented since 2007. The men’s basketball awards were instituted in 2022.
