UMass salvages weekend split against Merrimack
UMass scored three power-play goals en route to a 5-2 win over Merrimack on Saturday night at the Mullins Center. Merrimack and UMass split the weekend series after the Warriors won at home on Friday night, 3-2.
Cole O’Hara scored three goals for the Minutemen, including two of their three power-play goals. The Minutemen had a 4-0 lead after O’Hara completed the hat trick at the 8:28 mark of the third period.
Merrimack made it a game after two Tyler Young goals. Young scored at the 11:04 mark and then scored an extra-attacker goal at the 17:32 mark, but UMass’ Michael Cameron scored an empty-netter with 11 seconds left.
Max Lundgren started for the Warriors and made 25 saves for the Warriors.
