Warriors go wild from three-point range in win over Stonehill
NORTH ANDOVER — Devon Savage had 14 points and Jordan Derkack recorded a double-double in Merrimack's 63-47 win over Stonehill on Sunday.
Savage added three steals for the Warriors (10-10, 4-2 NEC). Derkack scored 12 points and added eight rebounds, 11 assists, and three steals. Samba Diallo was 4 of 6 shooting (3 for 3 from 3-point range) to finish with 11 points.
The Warriors attempted 41 three-pointers, which is the most attempts in a game this season. The previous high was 30, which the Warriors tried against Worcester State and Bucknell.
The Skyhawks (2-19, 0-6) were led in scoring by Max Zegarowski, who finished with nine points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals. Todd Brogna added nine points for Stonehill. Tony Felder also had eight points and eight rebounds. The Skyhawks extended their losing streak to eight in a row.
NOTES: Derkack led the Warriors with 37 minutes. Clark and Diallo both played 30 minutes. ... Jordan McKoy had nine points in 24 minutes off the bench (all 3s). ... Savage and Derkack both had three steals, and Jacob O'Connell led the Warriors with a pair of blocks.
NEXT: The Warriors will hit the road next weekend. They'll visit Wagner on Thursday, looking to avenge Friday's 71-65 loss. They'll finish the weekend on Saturday at Saint Francis.
