Scott Borek uses his timeout with 9:21 left. Logan Drevitch was taken down in the corner after a whistle. It appears Borek is challenging for head contact.
End of 2: Merrimack leads Holy Cross, 2-1. SOG 8-5 Holy Cross. Not a good period for the Warriors, who had HC on the ropes and failed to put them away.
HOLY CROSS GOAL: PP goal for the Crusaders makes it 2-1. Warriors sloppy in their own end and take a penalty and then don't seal off lanes well enough on the PK which allows a goal for HC.
While I'm off topic though ... I'm also getting a kick out of one of the on-ice referees, who has been consistently yelling for players to "move!" all night, yet he seems to find himself consistently in the way.
I usually don't complain about stuff like this ... but there's a loudmouth in the front row below where we're stationed and he hasn't stopped yelling for the last 5 minutes. Send help. I might lose it.
Holy Cross is doing a nice job getting pucks in deep from the NZ. They just aren't winning those pucks on the forecheck. Puck has been down Merrimack's end a good amount considering HC only has 1 SOG.
Merrimack getting a little sloppy on breakouts. They aren't getting pucks deep and working the forecheck the way they were up until HC went on that PP.
Final: Merrimack wins, 3-2. SOG 27-21 Merrimack.
Goalie's out fo rHC with 1:31 left.
Merrimack is three minutes away from a win, but this feels like a game that should have been 4-1 by now. Not 3-2 and within reach for the Crusaders.
HOLY CROSS GOAL: Crusaders make it 3-2 with 4:05 left.
Haha
A 9 minute power play might help.
7:16 to play, 3-1 Warriors.
Excuse me, haha. 9:21 left in the game. 0:34 on the PP.
No penalty. Merrimack still has 9:21 left on its PP.
Scott Borek uses his timeout with 9:21 left. Logan Drevitch was taken down in the corner after a whistle. It appears Borek is challenging for head contact.
MERRIMACK GOAL: Warriors make it 3-1 with 14:45 left.
Game on in the 3rd! Merrimack leads Holy Cross, 2-1.
v
The teams are on the ice for the 3rd period.
Seriously? The referee didn't allow a few Merrimack players to skate down to Hugo Ollas at the end of the period. That was strange.
End of 2: Merrimack leads Holy Cross, 2-1. SOG 8-5 Holy Cross. Not a good period for the Warriors, who had HC on the ropes and failed to put them away.
MC kills it.
HC back to the PP.
Merrimack needs to get it going here. Very lackadaisical second period. They had HC on the ropes to end the first.
After HC kills the penalty they had a turn on the PP. Back to 5v5 with 4:11 left in the second.
Merrimack going to the PP.
HOLY CROSS GOAL: PP goal for the Crusaders makes it 2-1. Warriors sloppy in their own end and take a penalty and then don't seal off lanes well enough on the PK which allows a goal for HC.
HC headed ot the PP.
Good shift there by the Copponi line as well.

Excellent shift from Mac Welsher. Set up Durflinger for a nice tip in front and just outworked everyone on the forecheck.
He wants several penalties called. However, he only seems to want to see them called on the away team. Interesting.

Game on in the 2nd period. Merrimack leads Holy Cross, 2-0.
Teams are back for the second period.
That's Jefferies 3rd of the year.
It must have been a mistake. It's back to Jefferies on the official scoring.
Merrimack's second goal reads Ben Brar from Max Newton ... perhaps Brar tipped it?
Shot attempts in the first period were 22-8 Merrimack.
Sorry, 13-2 SOG.
End of 1: Merrimack leads Holy Cross, 2-0. SOG 12-2 Merrimack.
Holy Cross is doing a nice job getting pucks in deep from the NZ. They just aren't winning those pucks on the forecheck. Puck has been down Merrimack's end a good amount considering HC only has 1 SOG.
Warriors almost make it 3-0 but Walsh is stopped by Gordon on a 2-on-1.
It should be Alex Jefferies from Max Newton. Awaiting the official scoring.
MERRIMACK GOAL: Alex Jefferies pops in a shot off the draw. 2-0 Merrimack with 5:49 left in the 1st.
Merrimack getting a little sloppy on breakouts. They aren't getting pucks deep and working the forecheck the way they were up until HC went on that PP.
Some sloppiness on both sides since that HC PP. Merrimack ices it there with 6:17 left. Still 1-0 Warriors, and SOG 9-1 MC.
MC kills it. Good PK. HC still doesn't have a SOG.
FKT had the assist.
HC on its first PP of the night.
Back at my post. Merrimack scored while I was down there. Filip Forsmark made it 1-0.
I'm going to step away for a few minutes to go down to the corner for photos. Back in a bit.
SOG 3-0 Warriors.
Holy Cross gets the kill.
Merrimack going on the PP just 1:16 into the game. Uens cross-checked as the Warriors cycled in the corner.
