FINAL: Maine wins 2-1. Warriors push at the end but the Black Bears hold on. Ostman very good for Maine tonight. Thought Lynden Breen was their best player. He was a factor in every zone.
The officials decide to look at the goal, which benefits Merrimack. Warriors already took a timeout and now they basically get it back with this review. Maine bench didn't look pleased.
Bradly Nadeau gets the goal. Not to take anything away from that wicked one-timer, but the goal was created by Lynden Breen forcing a turnover on the wall. Breen has been excellent all night.
Merrimack is wearing "AD" decals on the back of their helmets in honor of Adine Djurasevic, the mother of freshman D Frank Djurasevic who passed away earlier this week. They held a moment of silence before the game as well.
Apologies having some connectivity issues. Merrimack just killed the first penalty of the game and Max Wattvil had a scoring chance off the rush. Still 1-0 Maine with 3:34 left and Merrimack headed to the PP. Good job by Wattvil to get behind the D.
Some action at both ends in the first period but it generally felt like Maine had the better of the play. Maine definitely had more possession. SOG just 7-5 but attempts were 19-14 Maine.
Jefferies looks good through one period. No side effects I'd say. He's big and powerful, and he can fly. He's going to be a lot for teams to handle.
Not a great first shift for the Warriors. Maine had a clean offensive chance right away and then forced the Warriors to ice the puck. Maine bringing it in the first minute.
