13 vs. 18 ... easy mistake to make haha

It was Jandric (according to the live stats) who beat that man wide and set up Newton. Not Brar.

I hope we see MC keep their foot on the gas. Merrimack has dominated this period.

Carlile was awarded an assist on Brar's goal that tied the game.

I believe that was Brar who edged out his man and fed Newton in front.

MERRIMACK GOAL: Warriors make it 4-3 with 5:34 to go

The script has completely flipped. Colgate has been very sloppy this period. Turnovers in high-leverage areas are giving MC chances.

SOG now 30-18 Merrimack after the goal. Merrimack's second PP goal of the game. Newton's was a PP goal in the second period.

Jandric with the initial shot, and Ben Brar, again a force in front of the net on the PP, bangs in a rebound.

MERRIMACK GOAL: Tie game with 9:28 left. PP goal for Merrimack

Boarding is the call on Colton Young ... live stats have it as Ben Raymond but Young is in the box.

Expand full comment
author

It appears that the penalty will remain a minor. So MC is on the PP with 10:22 left, trailing 3-2.

Expand full comment
author

So I am assuming, given the situation, that there is a minor penalty on Young, and the officials are reviewing to see if it will be changed to a major. That's my educated guess, but without an actual announcement, I have no way to know for sure.

It's not hard to have the PA announce what they're looking at ...

Expand full comment
author

Again ... ANNOUNCE WHAT'S GOING ON! This isn't just a Colgate issue. They need to mandate it across college hockey. Enough with these reviews where we have no clue what's going on. It's ridiculous.

Expand full comment
author

Wait - no. Young now in the box for a minor. They're reviewing to see if it will be a major.

Expand full comment
author

They are going to go to the review. Referees cannot call minor penalties off of a review, so they are reviewing for a major or nothing here, it would seem.

The officials are meeting at the keepers area. I assume there is a penalty coming. There was an arm up, and it looked like a penalty.

Alex Young cleaned out Liam Dennison behind the play.

Penalty coming on Colgate, I believe.

Assuming it's no goal, it's 3-1 Colgate at the end of the second. SOG 23-16 Merrimack.
