Wattvil back out. Good sign after the hit he took earlier.

It is a major ... so UVM on another 5:00 PP with 1:03 left in the game. Jefferies gone.

Expand full comment
author

Not sure if this is being challenged or not? UVM may have challenged it for a major? No idea.

Looks like they're gonna review it for a major.

1:03 left.

Actually, they're gonna kick him out. So that's the third misconduct on Merrimack in the game. Not sure if that's a minor or major on Jefferies.

Jefferies going for cross checking Zapernick with 1:03 left.

Ollas out for the extra attacker again. Why not?

Ollas in the net to start the PP.

Down two goals, I wonder if Merrimack takes Ollas out here for 6v4. I could make an argument for it, but I like being aggressive getting the goalie out. 5:18 might be too long. But maybe halfway through the PP, if they haven't scored, I'd take him.

5:18 left in the 3rd.

Merrimack going to have a 5v3. High stick called on Bucheler. He chucked a Warrior out of the front of the net.

As it stands entering the third period, it will be 5-on-5. Forsmark will miss about 9 minutes before being eligible to return, serving the rest of the misconduct. Ty Daneault is out after receiving a game misconduct earlier in the second period.

Forsmark did get a 10-minute misconduct.

Of course, I'm watching it at live speed without the benefit of replay. Maybe replay would tell a different story. They aren't showing replays in the arena, and the internet isn't fast enough for me to get the stream up.

The officiating wasn't great last night either. It was more that the game had no flow because of ticky-tack calls on both teams. That call on Weilandt tonight will loom large, and I really thought it was a bad call.

End of 2: Vermont leads Merrimack 3-1.

So Vermont gets a PP goal on a horrendous penalty call. That call might end up deciding the game. Wow.

UVM GOAL: Vermont takes a 3-1 lead with 3.3 left in the 2nd.

I have to assume Forsmark said something? That's the only thing that makes sense.

Potvin just sent Forsmark to the locker room??? Misconduct? No one in the box.

Expand full comment

Filip Forsmark called for a penalty now. It was a hand pass I thought. No clue what this call is for...

Merrimack's bench was not happy. Don't blame them. That was a terrible call.

Expand full comment

Weilandt going off for Merrimack to put UVM on the PP. That's an awful call. UVM player tried to reverse hit Weilandt and they both went down. That's honestly one of the worst calls I've seen all year.

4:58 left in the 2nd period, 1-1 the score. I've tethered to a device now so we should be good with wifi rest of the way.

What you missed ...

Vermont tied it 1-1 and Ty Daneault was given a major and misconduct. So he's out for the game.

You know Ollas is playing well when nothing looks flashy. He's tracking the puck well and staying square to it. A lot of pucks are hitting his chest.

BIG SAVE by Ollas off a turnover in front. He's been dialed in the last three games.

Merrimack all over UVM right now. A lot of pressure after the PP. 1:30 to go.

Great play by Zach Bookman, shooting for Ben Brar's stick as he drove to the middle. Carriere made a tough save there.
